ABOUT US

We may define therapy as a search for value.

— Abraham Maslow

The Newtonian‐Euclidean scientific paradigm is giving its last breath. The academic inertia of the established scientific supremacy is soon to be surpassed. We want to take a step further in that direction. We are disappointed with the conventional practice of allopath medicine of treating the symptoms, neverminding the disease; fixing the parts, neverminding the whole; and just cutting and discarding what does not work. To treat an ailment, you have to first discover its cause. And every cause first manifests on a spiritual plane, before manifesting its repercussions on the physical plane.

At Psukhe, we don’t just pretend that if the effect stops manifesting for a while, you are cured. We look for the cause and try to find a way to remove it. ‘Psūkhē’ is the Ancient Greek word for the concept of soul/mind, the same word that gave us the English ‘psyche’. Therefore at Psukhe we are committed to treating the individual as a whole: body, mind and spirit. Nothing is left out, because we understand the state of health to be a very fine balance between all that comprises a human being.

To this end we employ an eclectic combination of therapeutic approaches, but focusing on the therapeutic universe outlined by Analytic and Humanistic Psychology, Psychosyntesis and Transpersonal Psychotherapy. As Jung and many others had found, we consider Astrology to be one of the most precise and helpful instruments that can be employed with great results in psychotherapeutic work, hence our trademark and unique Astrotherapy approach is a blend between the former mentioned schools of psychology and humanistic / psychological astrology in itself, as defined by Dane Rudhyar, respectively Liz Vincent.

Psukhe is a holistic, humanistic, pioneering and progressive blend between the psychological and the transpersonal (or spiritual). That is why we are fond of saying we don’t do psychotherapy at Psukhe, we do psukhetherapy.

Focused on personal development, supporting growth and self‐actualization, sparking the process of individuation – that is what Psukhe is dedicated and pledged to.

We treat the mind, not the brain

We heal the person, not the disease

We have clients, not patients
