The greatest challenge of the modern man is self‐determination. In the very distant past, people had tribes and their specific roles. In the not‐so‐distant past, we still had religion, which showed us a clear, distinct way of life to follow and relegated every one to their place in society. The modern man, giving up on rigid social organization and religion as well, is confronted with an existential crisis that is peculiar and representative of our times. He knows not what his nature, or his purpose, or his mission in life, or his destiny is or should be. This type of being‐in‐the‐world has been described by Sartre in his famous phrase ‘man is condemned to be free’.

In this workshop we will explore together, in small groups of ten, a multitude of techniques for discovering your purpose in life. But more than simple techniques, you will learn the basics, the fundamental psychological theory of self-knowledge that serves as the only solid groundwork on which you can build your introspection monument and finally reach the summit of finding your true purpose in life. Finding your mission will inform your path, or otherwise called vocation. Only such an awakened life can provide you with the bliss you are seeking.

Don’t worry, we won’t make you write your goals and mission statements down, like most self‐help gurus, because that is like putting the cart before the horse (how could I write my goals and mission statement when that is exactly what I’m trying to find out?). Instead we will coach you through a process of delving within to discover your true, authentic nature, which in turn will naturally, effortlessly and firmly point you towards your destination. The process of finding your purpose is, in fact, the journey to your‐Self. When you find yourself, you axiomatically know your meaning in life.
